The S&P/ASX200 Index firmed 0.3 percent as gold rallied to record levels on Monday.
Gold giant Newcrest Mining (ASX:NCM) jumped 4.9 percent while fellow gold miners Resolute Mining (ASX:RSG) and Saracen Mineral Holdings (ASX:SAR) soared 5.9 percent and 5.2 percent respectively.
Rare earths giant Lynas Corp (ASX:LYC) surged 12 percent while iron ore large cap BHP Group (ASX:BHP) advanced 0.9 percent.
Elsewhere, Insurance Australia Group (ASX:IAG) plunged 5.3 percent, Corporate Travel Management (ASX:CTD) slipped 4.1 percent, Clinuvel Pharmaceuticals (ASX:CUV) fell 3.9 percent and oOh!Media (ASX”OML) close 3.6 percent lower.
Aeon Metals Ltd (ASX:AML) Junior cobalt and copper miner AML rocketed 36.4 percent to take the top spot in our top 10. The Company has an extensive exploration tenement portfolio in the world-class Mt Isa mineral province in North West Queensland; as well as the Rawbelle district in South East Queensland. Rex Minerals Ltd (ASX:RXM) Copper and gold miner RXM surged 34.3 percent today having recently got approved by the South Australian Government for its environment protection and rehabilitation at Hillside Copper-Gold Project (Source: The Market Herald)
A1 Investments & Resources (ASX:AYI) Financials and investment firm AYI soared 33.3 percent after the bell. AYI focuses on projects in Australia and Asia. The S&P/ASX200 Index clawed back 1.1 percent on Tuesday, lifted by the major banks, miners and biopharceutical giant, CSL (ASX:CSL) who finished 2.1 percent higher.
Banks led the charge as National Australia Bank (ASX:NAB) and Commonwealth Bank of Australia (ASX:CBA) both jumped 1.7 percent,Westpac (ASX:WBC) added 1.6 percent and Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ASX:ANZ) improved 1.3 percent.
Iron ore miners had a good field day as Fortescue Metals Group (ASX:FMG) rallied 3.5 percent, Rio Tinto (ASX:RIO) rose 1.4 percent, BHP Group (ASX:BHP) firmed 0.9 percent and Newcrest Mining (ASX:NCM) gained 0.7 percent.
‘Buy-now, pay-later’ sector continues its downward spiral post-Paypal’s entry as Sezzle (ASX:SZL) dived 3.2 percent, Zip Co (ASX:Z1P) plunged 2.2 percent, Afterpay (ASX:APT) fell 1.8 percent and Splitit (ASX:SPT) declined 1.7 percent.
Dotz Nano Ltd (ASX:DTZ) Authentication technology company DTZ surged 32.5% after signing an agreement to supply the advanced ‘Secured by Dotz’ authentication solution for respiratory face masks and other PPE equipment in North America. AI and neuromorphic processor company BRN soared 30.4 percent after last week’s agreement to collaborate with VORAGO Technologies through the Akida Early Access Program.
GWR Group Ltd (ASX:GWR)
Wiluna West Gold Project miner and explorer GWR jumped 26.8 percent. On 28 August, GWR received mining approval for its mining and other permits at the C4 deposit enclosed in its Wiluna West iron ore project.
Clean Teq Holdings Ltd (ASX:CLQ)
Melbourne-based metals recovery and industrial water treatment producer CLQ surged 26.2 percent after releasing on Monday its capital structure update after 350k options exercisable at AUD 0.95 had lapsed.

Banks were up across the board as Westpac Banking Corp (ASX:WBC) added 1.9 percent, Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ASX:ANZ) jumped 1.8 percent, National Australia Bank (ASX:NAB) grew 1.5 percent, and Commonwealth Bank of Australia (ASX:CBA) rose 1 percent.
Iron ore miners closed mixed as Rio Tinto (ASX:RIO) closed 2.5 percent higher,BHP Group (ASX:BHP) rallied 2.4 percent,Fortescue Metals Group (ASX:FMG) advanced 2.1 percent, Newcrest Mining (ASX:NCM) climbed 1.3 percent.
