10 ASX Companies That Performed On Top Today - 5 August 2020
The S&P/ASX 200 Indexretreated0.6 percent after recording its deadliest day of COVID-19 pandemic in the worst-hit state of Victoria.
Amongst large caps and health care stocks that took the tumble such as Suncorp (ASX:SUN) fell 3.7 percent, ResMed (ASX:RMD) dipped 2.9 percent,Cochlear (ASX:COH) lost 2.8 percent and QBE Insurance Group (ASX:QBE) closed 2.4 percent down. Gold miners bucked the trend as the precious metal broke USD 2,000 per ounce for the first time as Northern Star Resources (ASX:NST) rose 4.3 percent, Evolution Mining (ASX:EVN) gained 3.7 percent and Newcrest Mining (ASX:NCM) improved 2.9 percent.
E-commerce and work-from-home stocks performed as well as Goodman Group (ASX:GMG) firmed 1.5 percent and Redbubble (ASX:RBL) jumped 7.8 percent.
Poseidon Nickel (ASX:POS) WA-based sulphide nickel miner POS rocketed 50 percent after announcing its recent Black Swan discovery with another intersection of a thick bed of massive sulphides. (Source: The Market Herald)

Auteco Minerals (ASX:AUT) Emerging gold explorer AUT surged 22.9 percent after recent announcements that it is advancing its strategy to upgrade the gold inventory at its Pickle Crow project in Ontario, Canada, with the arrival of a second rig and the setting up of a 24-person camp for year-round exploration. LiveHire (ASX:LVH) Recruitment and talent mobility software provider LVH soared 21.2 percent having recently announced its cash receipts increased 43% YoY to AUD 4.5 million for the full fiscal year ended in June while software-as-a-service annualised recurring revenue was AUD 3.5 million in the June quarter, a YoY increase of 38%.
