10 ASX Companies That Performed On Top Today - 23 September 2020
The S&P/ASX200 Index jumped 2.4 percent on Wednesday to record its best trading day on two months, fueled by gains from the major banks.
Iron ore miners finished strongly as BHP Group (ASX:BHP) and Newcrest Mining (ASX:NCM) both climbed 1.3 percent, Fortescue Metals Group (ASX:FMG) lifted 0.7 percent and Rio Tinto (ASX:RIO) took 0.5 percent.
Banks led the charge as National Australia Bank (ASX:NAB) surged 2.9 percent, Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ASX:ANZ) rose 2.4 percent, Westpac (ASX:WBC) bounced 2.1 percent andCommonwealth Bank of Australia (ASX:CBA) firmed 1.9 percent.
BNPL sector followed the trend as Sezzle (ASX:SZL) leaped 5.6 percent, Zip Co (ASX:Z1P) jumped 3 percent, Afterpay (ASX:APT) grew 2.9 percent. Openpay Group (ASX:OPY) moved slightly at 0.4 percent.
Andromeda Metals Ltd (ASX:ADN) Emerging industrial minerals explorer AND surged 30 percent. Earlier in September, AND received positive results from its aircore drilling conducted at its Hammerhead prospect.
State Gas Ltd (ASX:GAS)
Queensland-based developer of the Reid’s Dome gas field, GAS soared 25.4 percent after winning contiguous new acreage creating super gas region.
Botanix Pharmaceuticals Ltd (ASX:BOT)
Clinical-stage synthetic cannabinoid pharmaceutical company BOT jumped 25 percent. Earlier in September, BOT expressed good progress on its antimicrobial gel known as BTX 1801.
Tesoro Resources Ltd (ASX:TSO)
Chilean-based gold and copper explorer Tesoro Resources Ltd (ASX:TSO) is up 20 percent after increasing its El Zorro land position by 50 percent.
Chalice Gold Mines Ltd (ASX:CHN)
Victoria-based gold explorer CHN shot up 15.9 percent again following Tuesday’s climb, after major new 6.5km-long EM Anomaly Identified at Julimar for its Gonneville PGE-Ni-Cu-Co discovery.
