10 ASX Companies That Performed On Top Today - 26 Apr 2021

The S&P/ASX200 Index traded flat as miners offset the drag by energy and real estate stocks.

Major banks ended most in the red as Commonwealth Bank of Australia (ASX:CBA) cut 0.4 percent, Westpac (ASX:WBC) lost 0.2 percent, Macquarie Group (ASX:MQG) dipped 0.1 percent, Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ASX:ANZ) flatlined while National Australia Bank (ASX:NAB) added 0.8 percent.

Iron ore producers finished mostly higher as Fortescue Metals Group (ASX:FMG) soared 4.8 percent, Rio Tinto (ASX:RIO) jumped 1.1 percent, BHP Group (ASX:BHP) unearthed 0.6 percent while Newcrest Mining (ASX:NCM) plunged 2.6 percent.

‘Buy-now, pay-later’ sector weakened as Splitit (ASX:SPT) plummeted 4.4 percent, Zip Co (ASX:Z1P) crashed 3.8 percent, Sezzle (ASX:SZL) slid 1.6 percent, Openpay (ASX:OPY) declined 1 percent and Afterpay (ASX:APT) finished 0.7 percent lower.

The S&P/ASX200 Index shed 0.5 percent as all sectors except mining and energy fell into the red.

Major banks finished poorly as National Australia Bank (ASX:NAB) dumped 3 percent, Macquarie Group (ASX:MQG) slid 1.3 percent, Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ASX:ANZ) withered 0.9 percent while Commonwealth Bank of Australia (ASX:CBA) and Westpac (ASX:WBC) edged 0.2 percent.

Iron ore producers fared well as BHP Group (ASX:BHP) rose 2.1 percent, Rio Tinto (ASX:RIO) added 1 percent, Fortescue Metals Group (ASX:FMG) lifted 0.1 percent while Newcrest Mining (ASX:NCM) dipped 0.3 percent.

‘Buy-now, pay-later’ sector finished below par as Afterpay (ASX:APT) nosedived 7 percent, Zip Co (ASX:Z1P) plunged 5.9 percent, Sezzle (ASX:SZL) crashed 5 percent, Openpay (ASX:OPY) slashed 3.7 percent while Splitit (ASX:SPT) flatlined.
