10 ASX Companies That Performed On Top Today - 21 May 2021

The S&P/ASX200 Index edged 0.2 percent as the Tech sector strengthened again on Friday.

Major banks were mostly green as Macquarie Group (ASX:MQG) added 0.6 percent, Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ASX:ANZ) and Westpac (ASX:WBC) both rose 0.5 percent, National Australia Bank (ASX:NAB) creeped 0.1 percent while Commonwealth Bank of Australia (ASX:CBA) retreated 0.4 percent.

Iron ore producers were on the back foot as Fortescue Metals Group (ASX:FMG) trashed 2.2 percent, Newcrest Mining (ASX:NCM) dumped 1.8 percent, BHP Group (ASX:BHP) buried 1.1 percent and Rio Tinto (ASX:RIO) offloaded 0.9 percent.

‘Buy-now, pay-later’ sector was a drag as Zip Co (ASX:Z1P) plunged 4.5 percent, Openpay (ASX:OPY) crashed 3.4 percent, Splitit (ASX:SPT) slid 1.5 percent, Afterpay (ASX:APT) dipped 0.1 percent while Sezzle (ASX:SZL) charged 1.8 percent.

The S&P/ASX200 Index surged 1.3 percent as the Technology sector lifted the index.

Major banks recovered admirably as Commonwealth Bank of Australia (ASX:CBA) soared 3.2 percent, Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ASX:ANZ) charged 2 percent, National Australia Bank (ASX:NAB) added 1.6 percent, Westpac (ASX:WBC) grew 1.4 percent and Macquarie Group (ASX:MQG) edge 0.3 percent.

Iron ore producers were pegged back as BHP Group (ASX:BHP) dumped 1 percent, Rio Tinto (ASX:RIO) retreated 0.5 percent, Fortescue Metals Group (ASX:FMG) dipped 0.1 percent while Newcrest Mining (ASX:NCM) gained 1 percent.

‘Buy-now, pay-later’ sector strengthened as Splitit (ASX:SPT) skyrocketed 9.8 percent, Afterpay (ASX:APT) jumped 7.7 percent, Zip Co (ASX:Z1P) rose 5 percent, Sezzle (ASX:SZL) surged 4.2 percent and Openpay (ASX:OPY) notched 0.8 percent.

The S&P/ASX200 Index plunged 1.9 percent as Mining and Energy stocks reversed Tuesday’s gains.

Major banks felt the heat as Macquarie Group (ASX:MQG) dumped 2.7 percent, Commonwealth Bank of Australia (ASX:CBA) slashed 2.5 percent, Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ASX:ANZ) cut 1.4 percent, National Australia Bank (ASX:NAB) slid 1.3 percent and Westpac (ASX:WBC) lost 1.1 percent           .

Iron ore producers led the slump as Rio Tinto (ASX:RIO) nosedived 3.8 percent, BHP Group (ASX:BHP) crashed 3.4 percent, Fortescue Metals Group (ASX:FMG) shed 3.1 percent and Newcrest Mining (ASX:NCM) declined 2.3 percent.

‘Buy-now, pay-later’ sector were under par as Sezzle (ASX:SZL) decimated 4.6 percent, Splitit (ASX:SPT) retreated 2.4 percent, Zip Co (ASX:Z1P) ditched 1.7 percent, Afterpay (ASX:APT) dipped 0.1 percent while Openpay (ASX:OPY) flatlined.

The S&P/ASX200 Index climbed 0.6 percent and Energy and Mining sectors lifted the index.

Major banks did well as Macquarie Group (ASX:MQG) grew 2.4 percent, Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ASX:ANZ) added 1.4 percent, National Australia Bank (ASX:NAB) rose 1.2 percent, Westpac (ASX:WBC) edged 0.5 percent while Commonwealth Bank of Australia (ASX:CBA) traded flat.

Iron ore producers excelled as Rio Tinto (ASX:RIO) notched 2.1 percent, Fortescue Metals Group (ASX:FMG) charged 2 percent, BHP Group (ASX:BHP) leaped 1.9 percent and Newcrest Mining (ASX:NCM) gained 1.1 percent.

‘Buy-now, pay-later’ sector strengthened as Sezzle (ASX:SZL) soared 6.7 percent, Zip Co (ASX:Z1P) surged 1.7 percent, Openpay (ASX:OPY) jumped 1.1 percent, Splitit (ASX:SPT) topped 0.8 percent and Afterpay (ASX:APT) creeped up 0.1 percent.
