Wednesday’s Winners – Top 10 ASX Companies

10 ASX Companies That Performed On Top Today - 12 May 2021

The S&P/ASX200 Index retreated 0.7 percent as the slump continues.

Major banks continue to bleed as Westpac (ASX:WBC) ditched 1.2 percent, Macquarie Group (ASX:MQG) slid 1.1 percent, National Australia Bank (ASX:NAB) cut 1 percent, Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ASX:ANZ) dipped 0.6 percent while Commonwealth Bank of Australia (ASX:CBA) recovered 1 percent.

Iron ore producers performed poorly as Newcrest Mining (ASX:NCM) fell 0.9 percent, BHP Group (ASX:BHP) lost 0.5 percent, Rio Tinto (ASX:RIO) dropped 0.4 percent while Fortescue Metals Group (ASX:FMG) charged 1.4 percent.

‘Buy-now, pay-later’ sector ended mostly lower as Sezzle (ASX:SZL) and Splitit (ASX:SPT) both plunged 5 percent, Openpay (ASX:OPY) dumped 3.6 percent while Zip Co (ASX:Z1P) and Afterpay (ASX:APT) edged 0.3 percent.

  6. Artemis Resources Limited (ASX:ARV) +14.6 percent

10 ASX Companies That Performed On Top Today - 11 May 2021

 The S&P/ASX200 Index rose 0.8 percent boosted by the tech and travel sector.

Major banks felt the heat as Macquarie Group (ASX:MQG) dumped 1.4 percent, Westpac (ASX:WBC) ditched 1.3 percent, Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ASX:ANZ) slid 1.1 percent, National Australia Bank (ASX:NAB) slashed 1 percent and Commonwealth Bank of Australia (ASX:CBA) dipped 0.6 percent.

Iron ore producers fell below par as Fortescue Metals Group (ASX:FMG) declined 2.8 percent, Rio Tinto (ASX:RIO) dropped 1.8 percent, Newcrest Mining (ASX:NCM) fell 0.8 percent and BHP Group (ASX:BHP) retreated 0.7 percent.

‘Buy-now, pay-later’ sector was in turmoil as Zip Co (ASX:Z1P) nosedived 9.1 percent, Afterpay (ASX:APT) crashed 8.7 percent, Openpay (ASX:OPY) cut 7.4 percent, Sezzle (ASX:SZL) deflated 5.6 percent and Splitit (ASX:SPT) lost 4.8 percent.

The S&P/ASX200 Index jumped 1.3 percent as every sector except Utilities closed higher.

Major banks finished mixed as Commonwealth Bank of Australia (ASX:CBA) and Westpac (ASX:WBC) both rose 1.3 percent, National Australia Bank (ASX:NAB) added 1.2 percent but Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ASX:ANZ) dumped 1.3 percent and Macquarie Group (ASX:MQG) dipped 0.2 percent.

Iron ore producers ended spectacularly as Fortescue Metals Group (ASX:FMG) skyrocketed 7.9 percent, Rio Tinto (ASX:RIO) soared 4.6 percent, BHP Group (ASX:BHP) surged 3.1 percent and Newcrest Mining (ASX:NCM) climbed 2.8 percent.

‘Buy-now, pay-later’ sector was mostly ahead as Afterpay (ASX:APT) leaped 2.2 percent, Zip Co (ASX:Z1P) rebounded 1.5 percent, Openpay (ASX:OPY) edged 0.8 percent, Sezzle (ASX:SZL) flatlined while Splitit (ASX:SPT) slid 0.7 percent.

Major banks finished poorly as National Australia Bank (ASX:NAB) dumped 3 percent, Macquarie Group (ASX:MQG) slid 1.3 percent, Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ASX:ANZ) withered 0.9 percent while Commonwealth Bank of Australia (ASX:CBA) and Westpac (ASX:WBC) edged 0.2 percent.

Iron ore producers fared well as BHP Group (ASX:BHP) rose 2.1 percent, Rio Tinto (ASX:RIO) added 1 percent, Fortescue Metals Group (ASX:FMG) lifted 0.1 percent while Newcrest Mining (ASX:NCM) dipped 0.3 percent.

‘Buy-now, pay-later’ sector finished below par as Afterpay (ASX:APT) nosedived 7 percent, Zip Co (ASX:Z1P) plunged 5.9 percent, Sezzle (ASX:SZL) crashed 5 percent, Openpay (ASX:OPY) slashed 3.7 percent while Splitit (ASX:SPT) flatlined.
