The S&P/ASX200 Index added 1 percent on Tuesday as Banks, Miners and Consumer Discretionary sectors lifted the index.

Major banks had a boast as Macquarie Group (ASX:MQG) charged 2.5 percent, Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ASX:ANZ) rose 1 percent, National Australia Bank (ASX:NAB) and Commonwealth Bank of Australia (ASX:CBA) both charged 0.9 percent and Westpac (ASX:WBC) edged 0.8 percent.

Iron ore producers were above par overall as Fortescue Metals Group (ASX:FMG) and Rio Tinto (ASX:RIO) jumped 1.6 percent, BHP Group (ASX:BHP) unearthed 1.3 percent while Newcrest Mining (ASX:NCM) dipped 0.4 percent.

‘Buy-now, pay-later’ sector ended mixed again as Splitit (ASX:SPT) soared 3.9 percent, Zip Co (ASX:Z1P) surged 1.8 percent, Afterpay (ASX:APT) gained 0.9 percent while Sezzle (ASX:SZL) slashed 1.7 percent and Openpay (ASX:OPY) retreated 0.6 percent.
