Wednesday’s Winners – Top 10 ASX Companies

10 ASX Companies That Performed On Top Today - 14 Jul 2021

The S&P/ASX200 Index edged 0.3 percent as all sectors but Technology were ahead on Wednesday.

Major banks were split as Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ASX:ANZ) fell 0.6 percent, Westpac (ASX:WBC) lost 0.2 percent, Macquarie Group (ASX:MQG) dipped 0.1 percent while Commonwealth Bank of Australia (ASX:CBA) gained 0.4 percent and National Australia Bank (ASX:NAB) notched 0.1 percent.

Iron ore producers mostly improved as Newcrest Mining (ASX:NCM) jumped 2.6 percent, BHP Group (ASX:BHP) added 0.5 percent, Fortescue Metals Group (ASX:FMG) advanced 0.1 percent while Rio Tinto (ASX:RIO) retreated 0.1 percent.

‘Buy-now, pay-later’ sector endured one of the worse sessions as Zip Co (ASX:Z1P) plummeted 11.4 percent, Sezzle (ASX:SZL) nosedived 10.3 percent, Afterpay (ASX:APT) plunged 9.6 percent, Openpay (ASX:OPY) slid 4.9 percent and Splitit (ASX:SPT) dumped 4.5 percent.

The S&P/ASX200 Index traded flat on Tuesday as strong gains in Industrials and Utilities were offset by steep losses in Real Estate and Energy sectors.

Major banks fell behind as Commonwealth Bank of Australia (ASX:CBA) retreated 0.8 percent, Westpac (ASX:WBC) lost 0.7 percent, Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ASX:ANZ) cut 0.5 percent, Macquarie Group (ASX:MQG) dipped 0.3 percent while National Australia Bank (ASX:NAB) edged 0.1 percent.

Iron ore producers lifted further as Fortescue Metals Group (ASX:FMG) climbed 2.1 percent, Rio Tinto (ASX:RIO) added 0.6 percent, Newcrest Mining (ASX:NCM) advanced 0.3 percent while BHP Group (ASX:BHP) slid 0.7 percent.

‘Buy-now, pay-later’ sector ended mostly higher as Openpay (ASX:OPY) soared 3 percent, Sezzle (ASX:SZL) surged 2.2 percent, Zip Co (ASX:Z1P) charged 0.4 percent while Splitit (ASX:SPT) plunged 2.6 percent and Afterpay (ASX:APT) ditched 0.2 percent.

Major banks finished higher as Macquarie Group (ASX:MQG) rose 0.9 percent, Commonwealth Bank of Australia (ASX:CBA) and Westpac (ASX:WBC) both gained 0.6 percent, National Australia Bank (ASX:NAB) added 0.5 percent and Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ASX:ANZ) edged 0.4 percent.

Iron ore producers strengthened on Monday as Fortescue Metals Group (ASX:FMG) charged 3.3 percent, BHP Group (ASX:BHP) boosted 3.2 percent, Rio Tinto (ASX:RIO) advanced 1.8 percent and Newcrest Mining (ASX:NCM) climbed 0.5 percent.

‘Buy-now, pay-later’ sector ended lower as Sezzle (ASX:SZL) and Openpay (ASX:OPY) both plunged 3 percent, Splitit (ASX:SPT) shed 0.9 percent, Zip Co (ASX:Z1P) retreated 0.8 percent while Afterpay (ASX:APT) propelled 1 percent.

The S&P/ASX200 Index slid 0.9 percent on Friday amidst the spread of delta COVID-19 variant across the country.

Major banks saw red as Macquarie Group (ASX:MQG) declined 1.9 percent, Commonwealth Bank of Australia (ASX:CBA) lost 0.9 percent, Westpac (ASX:WBC) cut 0.6 percent, National Australia Bank (ASX:NAB) shed 0.5 percent and Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ASX:ANZ) dipped 0.3 percent.

Iron ore producers finished lower as Newcrest Mining (ASX:NCM) retreated 0.9 percent, Rio Tinto (ASX:RIO) ditched 0.7 percent, BHP Group (ASX:BHP) lowered 0.4 percent while Fortescue Metals Group (ASX:FMG) climbed 0.7 percent.

‘Buy-now, pay-later’ sector witnessed bloodshed as Sezzle (ASX:SZL) nosedive 8.5 percent, Zip Co (ASX:Z1P) plummeted 5.5 percent, Afterpay (ASX:APT) and Splitit (ASX:SPT) both plunged 5 percent and Openpay (ASX:OPY) dumped 3.2 percent.
