10 ASX Companies That Performed On Top Today - 4 Nov 2021

The S&P/ASX200 Index lifted 0.5 percent despite the Energy losing 2 percent on Thursday.

Major banks recovered well as Commonwealth Bank of Australia (ASX:CBA) surged 1.4 percent, Macquarie Group (ASX:MQG) jumped 1.3 percent, Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ASX:ANZ) charged 0.9 percent, National Australia Bank (ASX:NAB) gained 0.4 percent and Westpac (ASX:WBC) edged 0.2 percent.

Iron ore producers were split as Rio Tinto (ASX:RIO) plunged 1.5 percent, Fortescue Metals Group (ASX:FMG) crashed 1.4 percent while Newcrest Mining (ASX:NCM) added 0.4 percent and BHP Group (ASX:BHP) rose 0.3 percent.

‘Buy-now, pay-later’ sector saw red as Splitit (ASX:SPT) plummeted 5.6 percent, Sezzle (ASX:SZL) dumped 2.9 percent, Zip Co (ASX:Z1P) declined 0.5 percent, Openpay (ASX:OPY) descended 0.4 percent while Afterpay (ASX:APT) soared 2.3 percent.

The S&P/ASX200 Index fell 0.6 percent as the Mining sector put a drag on the index.

Major banks went under as Westpac (ASX:WBC) dumped 2.7 percent, Macquarie Group (ASX:MQG) lost 1.5 percent, Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ASX:ANZ) cut 1.1 percent, National Australia Bank (ASX:NAB) slid 0.9 percent and Commonwealth Bank of Australia (ASX:CBA) retreated 0.5 percent.

Iron ore producers saw red as Fortescue Metals Group (ASX:FMG) crashed 2.7 percent, Rio Tinto (ASX:RIO) plunged 2.5 percent, BHP Group (ASX:BHP) ditched 2.3 percent and Newcrest Mining (ASX:NCM) buried 1.4 percent.

‘Buy-now, pay-later’ sector ended lower as Splitit (ASX:SPT) plummeted 3.8 percent, Zip Co (ASX:Z1P) declined 2.7 percent, Openpay (ASX:OPY) descended 1.2 percent, Afterpay (ASX:APT) dipped 0.3 percent while Sezzle (ASX:SZL) rose 0.4 percent.

Major banks ended mixed as Commonwealth Bank of Australia (ASX:CBA) climbed 1.5 percent, Macquarie Group (ASX:MQG) lifted 0.4 percent, Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ASX:ANZ) traded flat while Westpac (ASX:WBC) plummeted 7.4 percent and National Australia Bank (ASX:NAB) slid 0.9 percent.

Iron ore producers were split as Newcrest Mining (ASX:NCM) crashed 1.8 percent, BHP Group (ASX:BHP) retreated 0.5 percent while Fortescue Metals Group (ASX:FMG) jumped 2.9 percent and Rio Tinto (ASX:RIO) grew 0.8 percent.

Major banks felt the heat as National Australia Bank (ASX:NAB) plunged 2.5 percent, Westpac (ASX:WBC) dumped 2.1 percent, Commonwealth Bank of Australia (ASX:CBA) crashed 2 percent, Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ASX:ANZ) slid 1.6 percent and Macquarie Group (ASX:MQG) traded flat.
