10 ASX Companies That Performed On Top Today - 19 Jan 2022

The S&P/ASX200 Index crashed 1 percent as Tech sector fell over 2.5 percent on Wednesday.

Major banks finished lower again as Macquarie Group (ASX:MQG) dumped 3.7 percent, Commonwealth Bank of Australia (ASX:CBA) slid 1.4 percent, National Australia Bank (ASX:NAB) retreated 1.2 percent, Westpac (ASX:WBC) lost 0.8 percent and Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ASX:ANZ) cut 0.7 percent.

Iron ore producers mostly saw red as Fortescue Metals Group (ASX:FMG) ditched 1.5 percent, Newcrest Mining (ASX:NCM) buried 1 percent, BHP Group (ASX:BHP) dipped 0.3 while Rio Tinto (ASX:RIO) edged 0.2 percent.

‘Buy-now, pay-later’ sector ended mixed as Sezzle (ASX:SZL) plummeted 3.7 percent, Afterpay (ASX:APT) plunged 2.2 percent while Openpay (ASX:OPY) lifted 1.5 percent, Zip Co (ASX:Z1P) and Splitit (ASX:SPT) both traded flat.

The S&P/ASX200 Index dipped 0.1 percent despite miners advancing on Tuesday.

Major banks saw red as Commonwealth Bank of Australia (ASX:CBA) and Macquarie Group (ASX:MQG) both cut 0.4 percent, Westpac (ASX:WBC) retreated 0.3 percent, National Australia Bank (ASX:NAB) lost 0.1 percent while Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ASX:ANZ) edged 0.1 percent.

Iron ore producers mostly ended lower as Newcrest Mining (ASX:NCM) slid 0.8 percent, Rio Tinto (ASX:RIO) ditched 0.3 percent, Fortescue Metals Group (ASX:FMG) reduced 0.1 percent while BHP Group (ASX:BHP) rose 1.2 percent.

‘Buy-now, pay-later’ sector were below par as Zip Co (ASX:Z1P) dumped 3.4 percent, Sezzle (ASX:SZL) buried 2.9 percent, Openpay (ASX:OPY) and Afterpay (ASX:APT) both crashed 0.7 percent while Splitit (ASX:SPT) advanced 1.9 percent.

Major banks all rebounded as Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ASX:ANZ) rose 1.2 percent, Macquarie Group (ASX:MQG) added 0.4 percent, Commonwealth Bank of Australia (ASX:CBA) lifted 0.3 percent, National Australia Bank (ASX:NAB) improved 0.2 percent and Westpac (ASX:WBC) edged 0.1 percent.

Iron ore producers
fell further as Fortescue Metals Group (ASX:FMG) dumped 2.8 percent, Newcrest Mining (ASX:NCM) ditched 1.2 percent, BHP Group (ASX:BHP) retreated 1.1 percent and Rio Tinto (ASX:RIO) cut 0.5 percent.

‘Buy-now, pay-later’
sector finished lower overall as Openpay (ASX:OPY) plunged 2.9 percent, Sezzle (ASX:SZL) shed 1.4 percent, Afterpay (ASX:APT) buried 0.8 percent while Zip Co (ASX:Z1P) notched 2.4 percent and Splitit (ASX:SPT) traded flat.
